Yesterday May 16th. The Harney and New Windsor Volunteer Fire Company's held its 6 annual Big Money Bonanza Raffle. Over 1600 tickets were sold this year. Both fires companies would like to thank everyone that came out this year making this another great successful year. National Fallen Firefighters Weekend held in Emmitsburg, MD was this weekend. The survivor family members from all acorss the county stay in Gettysburg during the event. Sunday morning they are all moved by bus to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg. 2025 was a very busy year for the Harney Volunteer Fire Company. Members were dispatched for record 351 calls. The most ever for Carroll County Station 11. Many other neighboring companies reported a record number of calls for 2025 as well. Some members responded to over 100 of those 351 calls.
